Vocation Resources
We provide a vocation intercession for each Sunday and holy day of obligation throughout the year. These are particularly suitable for the parishes of the Diocese of Fall River, but may be adapted by parishes. We also include some general vocation intercessions and bulletin announcements concerning vocations in our diocese. We provide some ideas for parents to teach their children about the importance of listening to God's call in discerning their vocation as they grow. We provide some resources for priests in helping their parishioners to discern their vocations. Resources in this section are from our diocese and beyond, including audio and video files and print sources. We provide information for those interested in having a Vocation Cross in their parish Forming a Vocation Prayer Team The National Strategy for Vocations encourages parishes to establish Parish Vocation Teams as a way to help every member of the parish, realize their responsibility for encouraging and calling forth vocations. The following goals and projects are provided to give parishes and individuals on which they can build a program of support for encouraging vocations. We provide links to resources on the Internet that may be of help to those discerning and to those who are involved in supporting vocations. A new tool to help priests in their efforts to encourage young men to consider a vocation to the priesthood has been sent to all parishes from the Diocesan Vocation Office. Fishers of Men, a DVD sponsored by the U.S. Bishops’ Committee on Vocations, is an eighteen-minute, professionally produced presentation on priestly vocations.
